What to do.

Stay at Quinta do Gato if you want an exclusive, premium stay set back and secluded among the Duoro Valley vineyards and orchards. This is a beautifully renovated stone home that has rustic charm and modern amenities. It has extremely well-styled furniture, art, books and so much more to make you feel you’re staying in a trendy hotel. There are four bedrooms, with a mix of larger beds and twin beds/bunk beds that would be good for groups of friends or families. The living room is centrally located with multiple sets of glass doors that open out to the patio with a comfortable seating and dining area that overlook the rolling hills and vineyards. The kitchen is well-equipped. We were happy to stay in most nights and cook a meal at home and enjoy eating outside. And, the pool is a nice touch with loungers and umbrellas to relax after tasting wine all day! The landscaping is immaculate and really boost the premium feel of the property while you’re enjoying the grounds. Outside of the immediate surroundings, the property has so many little trails and dirt roads leading out to orchards and vineyards - we found ourselves going for walks every morning exploring new vantage points of the valley. And - don’t miss the added optional amenities the host offers, like massages, a private chef, and catered meals to make the stay special. They even have a stocked wine fridge that acts as an honest bar which is so convenient. I can’t recommend this home enough and hope you get to experience it the way we did! - Sean from USA
